Tot School - Week 1

Red is currently 15.5 months.

We started our very first week of tot school! Overall, I think it went great. The first couple days Red was really interested in the materials, spending about an hour each day going through it all. Toward the end of the week, though, his attention span was much shorter. This tells me I need to keep switching it up every week to keep him interested. Here are the shelves this week:

He had an open/close basket full of different containers.

Drink stirrers placed into an empty grated cheese container

Slotted clothespins to slide onto the edge of a cup

Beads to sort into an ice cube tray. He didn't really do this one as planned. He preferred to play with the beads, but it was a good opportunity to talk about colors and textures.

Puzzle

Ring Stacker

Bristle Blocks

I tried to go for an ocean theme this week, but I don't think Red noticed. Here are our only ocean-y books that we stuck in with some other books in his reading area.

We also listed to Baby Beluga by Raffi among other songs and played the instruments.

Overall, tot school was a success!
